Principals Welcome On behalf of the school I should like to welcome you to the website of the British School in Baku. Although only established in September 2007 our school is fast becoming known as the only British International School in Azerbaijan. Our teaching is based on the English National Curriculum, which we adapt for life in an international setting. This curriculum, and the qualifications which are in integral part of it, is one the most successful in schools across the world. We see learning as being a lifelong experience, and our wish is to instil in each pupil a love for learning itself, as well as the opportunity to gain qualifications which will allow direct entry to university courses across the world. This year our school has opened new streams in both the Primary and Secondary departments. The new streams provide an opportunity to study with largely ex-pat teachers as well as a full range of after school activities. Our existing stream will continue to give a high quality education and also the chance to undertake Azeri Studies at the end of the English National Curriculum each day. Our school is now growing rapidly and so our website can just give you a flavor of all that can be seen and experienced in BSB. In order to do so more fully, I encourage you to visit our school. Both Michael Westman, Co-Principal and Head of Secondary and I, look forward to meeting you and showing you the opportunities our school provides for pupils of all ages and nationalities.
